• We need to learn to listen better and more.

• Self-determination requires communication. We need to identify communication supports for effective communication.

• We need to learn to provide augmentative (AAC) and facilitated communication training and supports effectively.

• We need to learn about literacy and to assure access to print-rich environments and literacy instruction, as this is needed for communication.
